As Lead Estimator, you will play a central role within the company’s preconstruction team while remaining actively involved in estimating projects.

You will prepare and oversee detailed estimates, analyze construction documents and coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing. You will lead estimates through each stage of development, ensuring that scope, cost, risk and schedule considerations are properly understood before submission.

The position will also involve leading bid reviews, contributing to project-selection strategy and working closely with Operations and senior leadership to support a smooth transition from preconstruction into construction.

Alongside your own estimating responsibilities, you will help develop other members of the team, share best practices and strengthen the company’s established network of subcontractors and trade partners.

• Strong commercial construction estimating experience with a General Contractor.
• Ability to manage an estimate from initial budgeting through final submission.
• Detailed understanding of drawings, specifications, scopes of work and construction costs.
• Experience obtaining, reviewing and leveling subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Ability to identify scope gaps, project risks and value-engineering opportunities.
• Strong communication, organization and commercial decision-making skills.
• A collaborative approach when working with Operations, leadership and external trade partners.
• Ability and willingness to lead and mentor other estimators while remaining hands-on.
• Knowledge of the Raleigh–Triangle construction and subcontractor market is highly desirable.
